Doing Help > Install New Software... and pointing at the 
CDT repo as per the homepage,
   http://download.eclipse.org/tools/cdt/releases/indigo

I still see the features advertised as "8.0.0.201109151620"

I find that confusing. The master features should be at 8.0.1 instead.

Agree. But too late. 8.0.1 has shipped.
