I have changed the visibility of these methods in org.eclipse.mylyn.context.sdk.java.WorkspaceSetupHelper. Please let me know if you require additonal changes.

Thanks Steffen. Would it be safe to use these now for the Mylyn context modeling build or is that building against the release?

It should be building against the nightly site. Once this build completes the new API should be available for consumption as binaries: https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/job/mylyn-context-nightly/97/
