Build Identifier: Maybe what I will say is not a real bug, It's a design problem. I am totally a new guy to eclipse, and I want know how to build enterprise application with Java. for example manipulate database is basic work. I know hibernate is the good choice. So I download Indigo, I find no hibernate is pre-intergrated, then I leaned that I can install hiberante from JBOSS site with Eclipse installing mechnism, I successed on installation, but when I try to use hibernate, I meet lots of problem, I even can't get a hbm file. then I uninstall it and try download package from offline site, but there is no guide in their packeage for installation information. after 5 days suffering I discard hibernate and to try JPA. I think JPA is standard JAVA knowledge so I take it granted that eclipse will support better. yes, I find Dali in eclipse, it's seems JPA is there. then I try a new JPA project, the wizard tell me I should have a user library for a JPA impementation, i don't know this case so I try import one from website. eclise give me a list of choice, but when i click them, a 'connect timed out' is springed time and time. then I come back to install the package from update site but the installation is also failed at a error called unmatch contract and can't continue. I have no choice but go to eclipselink website to get package and make a offline installation, I realy don't have confidence I can success. Summary: 1, there are lots of possibility to install plugin, but each of them is not easy, not good enough, it's too difficult to manage them. 2, the most of case for eclipse is for business application, but eclipse is not well pre-intergrated. 3, the installation contract between 3rd package with eclipse is very complex. 4, the package installation online is totally no relation with online installation. the installing behavior is not consistency. Reproducible: Always
I don't quite understand what issue this bug report is raising. There seems to be several issues captured here.
Eclipse.org produces various distributions with different Eclipse projects integrated. Licensing terms prevent Eclipse from distributing various plugins, third-party providers like JBoss can, and do create their own distributions of Eclipse tailored to their projects. If you have any specific bugs with Eclipse projects please open them individually.
