Build Identifier: 20110916-0149 I've recently upgraded to Eclipse Indigo and when running I frequently get crashes. Typically this happens when the system is short on RAM and swapping a lot. I see the same behavior using Sun's JDK and OpenJDK. Reproducible: Sometimes

I get something similar with gnome3 on Suse 11.4: # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment: # # SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0x00007ff38d28f145, pid=9081, tid=140684500707072 # # JRE version: 6.0_27-b07 # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (20.2-b06 mixed mode linux-amd64 compressed oops) # Problematic frame: # C [libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0+0x1144145] WTF::CString::mutableData()+0x2ccd5 # # An error report file with more information is saved as: # /home/jakob/hs_err_pid9081.log # # If you would like to submit a bug report, please visit: # http://java.sun.com/webapps/bugreport/crash.jsp # This happens every time a popup window shows up like when you have a string variable in java named x and type "x.". With java 1.7 eclipse crashes at startup, similar error.

You're both on opensuse 11.4 (64), which I don't currently have access to. The latest distro I have is Fedora 15 (64), and it does not show this problem. An opensuse 11.4 (64) install or image should be available in the near future. Taking report ownership in the meantime.
Created attachment 206494 [details] error log have the same eror OpenSuse 11.4 x86_64 and OpenJDK It looks like it apperas when I take mouse ponter overt some text, which should show some kind of tooltip.
Created attachment 208430 [details] Error log on Ubuntu 11.10 Same here on Ubuntu 11.10
I can add that it only happens on my Ubuntu repository (deb) install, while it does not happen on the manually installed version
Are you still experiencing thsi bug?
I'm on Kepler now, I haven't seen this recently. I have seen something making my eclipse disappear, but I haven't been able to track it down well enough to file a bug report. I've also upgraded my computer to have more RAM, so I'm not likely to be swapping anymore.
Closing the bug. Please reopen if you still experience it. Although probably no one still used libwebkitgtk-1.0 anymore.
