As per the webpage -> http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/moreinfo/jre.php

The Eclipse Indigo IDE is tested and validated on Windows 7 x86 32-bit for Sun Java 5 Update 22 or IBM Java 5 SR11 only.

That page does not reflect the reference platforms listed for 3.7.x. I guess it needs to be updated.

Platform maintains their web space.
Comment 3 John Arthorne CLA 2012-10-19 10:30:28 EDT
It was already updated to indicate Java 6 on both the download page and the referenced wiki page.
