On several occasions lately, I've encountered installation errors after the planner has made it's job and after I've accepted licenses etc. An error typically looks like this: An error occurred while collecting items to be installed session context was:(profile=SDKProfile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=). No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.apache.lucene.highlighter,2.9.1.v20100421-0704 No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.apache.lucene.memory,2.9.1.v20100421-0704 No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.apache.lucene.misc,2.9.1.v20100421-0704 No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.apache.lucene.queries,2.9.1.v20100421-0704 No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.apache.lucene.snowball,2.9.1.v20100421-0704 No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.apache.lucene.spellchecker,2.9.1.v20100421-0704 No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.mylyn.wikitext.core,1.5.0.v20110608-1400 No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.mylyn.wikitext.mediawiki.core,1.5.0.v20110608-1400 I checked the update site in question: http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-1.1 The only thing I find in the meta-data are optional requirements: org.eclipse.mylyn.wikitext.core org.eclipse.mylyn.wikitext.mediawiki.core There's absolutely no reference to any of the org.apache.lucene bundles. The string 'lucene' is not present in the meta-data. This would explain why the planner succeeds but it does not explain what goes wrong during the Collect phase. The error above is easy to reproduce. Install a fresh Indigo SR1 classic. Add the repository http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-1.1. Deselect "Contact all update sites to find required software" and then install the 'Eclipse EGit' and 'Eclipse JGit' features. Approve the licenses and click finish. After some time, a dialog pops up informing you about the download errors. The really interesting thing is that when you retry the install seconds later it succeeds immediately and you're asked to restart the IDE.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
