In some of my Eclipse installations I get the error No repository found at http://download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/extras. when upgrading from Indigo to Indigo SR1. At the moment I don't know how this p2 repository URL got activated in my installation - something to find out. And I don't know (yet) if this affects some or all EPP packages, I just wanted to document here.
Steffen, would it be possible to create an empty (maybe composite) p2 repository at this location for compatibility reasons. I still have no idea what contributes this location but I assume it could be a problem for many clients out there.
That update site was removed years ago... I have created an empty site for now but this will break again when the webmasters remove redirects from tools/mylyn -> mylyn in a few month. The empty site is here: http://download.eclipse.org/mylyn/releases/extras/compositeContent.xml.
I checked the Indigo and Juno meta-data. The outdated extras update site does not appear in the content.jar but it is present in the Helios meta-data. Unfortunately users will eventually need to manually disable or remove the site to fix the error if they have carried it over from previous installations. I have also seen older non Eclipse features add it such as the Atlassian JIRA connector.
