Description Michael Woski CLA 2011-09-21 08:31:13 EDT
Sometimes I see text where it should not be seen (no I'm not drunk), like in views that have a scrollbar (e.g. the console view).

It's difficult to explain, thus I'm attaching some screenshots. What you can't see in the screenshots though is that sometimes moving the mouse over the affected area solves the issue (like over buttons).

It doesn't make any difference whether I use OpenGL compositing or 2D video mode. I'm not sure when it really started to occur, but it could have been the installation of the xorg server 1.10.4 with the appropriate intel video driver 2.16.

bye Michi

this might be related to bug 354978

with -Dorg.eclipse.swt.internal.gtk.useCairo=false mentioned in bug 368543 everything seems fine again.

I believe this was fixed in Mars or Neon. I cannot reproduce this issue.
