I also noticed that my new changes didn't get pushed quickly. It took about 10 minutes until I saw them.

Hmmm, well after adding some debug code and waiting  I think I found the problem.  It looks like one of the awk functions we're using used to print it's results by default, and with our upgrade this doesn't seem to be the case.  I've tweaked the script and changes seem to be propagating now.
