Description David Williams CLA 2011-09-19 15:18:31 EDT
Given recent changes for the "download sites" (bug 357523) I'd like to take the opportunity to "save" our download sites better in cvs.

Currently, we have a project "org.eclipse.orbit.releng.dropsite" that stores the html, php, and a few scripts to do "site processing" the few times it is needed.

There is nothing about this cvs project that is built, or "automatic" ... it is simply a place to store safe copies in case hand editing, or something worse, messes up the site.

Currently, the files there are technically "current", but ... kind of disorganized.

I'd like to create a new project, name it
org.eclipse.orbit.releng.downloadsites
instead of
org.eclipse.orbit.releng.dropsite

It will have two subdirectories,
buildServer-shared-orbit
downloadServer-tools-orbit
that correspond to the two main "server sites" where we use php, html, etc.

(In case not clear, this cvs storage does not store any actual "drops" that are present on the real servers ... just the php, html, etc., that "displays" the builds ... or, more correctly, a summary of them.).

There's probably a few location in wiki that refer to "org.eclipse.orbit.releng.dropsite" so will search for that and change to
"org.eclipse.orbit.releng.downloadsites"

I've done what I'm going to do, for now. New module is now

org.eclipse.orbit.releng.downloadsites

I "nulled out" head of org.eclipse.orbit.releng.dropsite to help avoid confusion ... but, naturally, old code is there. Forever.

I fixed up a few URLs, such as link to "EUA file" was out of date, but certainly a lot more could be done to cleanup/improve the html.

I fixed up a few places in the wiki, where I found dropsite mentioned.
