Description Mickael Istria CLA 2011-09-19 12:27:22 EDT
Teams that develop GMF Runtime & Tooling are different, and both projects can and need to be less coupled that they currently are about release engineering. The consequence is that currently, there are 2 distinct repositories for GMF Runtime and Tooling.
However, these projects needs to be provided in the same repository since almost no one is able to create a diagram editor with GMF Runtime, and GMF Tooling does not make sense without GMF Runtime.

There should be a composite GMF update-site that would refer both update-sites for GMF Runtime and GMF Tooling. This update site would require very few maintenance operations. We could set one repo for snapshots, one repo for milestones and one repo for releases; each of them being a composite to related Tooling and Runtime repositories.

Then it would be easy for people to consume and use GMF, and easy for developers to get them evolving.

There is no such eclipse project GMP anymore.
