Description arahlf CLA 2011-09-19 10:01:22 EDT
Build Identifier: 20110615-0604

After adding content assist favorites in Eclipse Indigo, the java editor is incredibly unstable and frequently crashes. The only details in the error message are:

An error has occurred when activating this view
java.lang.NullPointerException

Once this happens, I cannot even save my current changes. If I remove the content assist favorites, it runs fine again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open content assist favorites
2. Add "New Type": org.junit.Assert
3. Use the editor and write some tests.

What JVM are you using? Do you have VM crash logs you can attach to this bug?

Actually please close this issue, it looks like the errors I'm seeing are happening from something else. Initially, removing the favorites would resolve the problem, but now even with the favorites gone the editor is crashing again periodically. I'll look into this further and create a different issue if I can gather enough details.
