Eclipse 4.2 build I20110916-0200 1. Launch the SDK 2. In the package explorer hit F1 - the help view will show 3. Adjust the width of the help view until it is narrow enough that the text "This view displays the workspace's Java projects and lets you explore their contents." is split over at least 3 lines. 4. Click on the "Search" link at the top of the help view The view toolbar now becomes too wide to fit next to the view tab and is shifted down into the view area, overlapping the links at the top of the view, see attachment. This is only a problem in e4, 3.8 works fine.

Eric, this looks like an e4 bug.
Yep, I can repro here...I think there might be another defect on this, it has to do with the CTabFolder's toolbar getting longer as a result of selecting 'Search'.
I suspect that this is a DUP of bug 344832, I've just tried the scenario on my machine and it works now (for me anyways).
It is working for me now using I20110927-2000 - it was a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 344832 ***
