i tried on may machine which is a Centos 6.0 64 bits. eclipse is Helios JEE

This is not a bug (and certainly not a problem with API Tools). You are having problems installing Maven, so I suggest you ask you ask on the Maven forums or the Maven integration forums (http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/f/61/).

You should provide them with exactly what items you were trying to install (including the repo you are installing from).
