Created attachment 203301 [details] screenshot of Problems view with large decoration buttons - observed on gtk64 with the 4.2M2 test build - works fine on gtk64 with the 3.8M2 test build - works fine on win32 with the 4.2M2 test build - bring up a new workspace, and note that the Problems view has very large decoration buttons (screenshot of this in this comment's attachment) - switch to another view, note that the buttons look - switch back to the problems view, it's now looking uglier (screenshot of this will be in the next comment) - the Markers view shows this as well (and possibly other views)

It happens on Solaris-gtk too, so it doesn't appear to be a 64-/32-bit different.
- also fails on Solaris SPARC with GTK 2.4.9 (i.e. really old gtk, with no cairo) - however... it works fine on Ubuntu 10.4 with GTK 2.20.1
Grant, how old is your gtk64? And how old is the Solaris-gtk you used? (I assume you mean gtk.solaris.x86?)
It was on our 64-bit ubuntu 10, so a reasonably new GTK. I think our solaris-gtk is OpenSolaris 11, so also not too old.

As reported in bug 362419, this happens for views with no toolbar items at all. Please see attachment there. > dpkg -s libgtk2.0-0|grep '^Version' Version: 2.24.4-0ubuntu2 > uname -a Linux 2.6.38-12-generic #51-Ubuntu SMP Wed Sep 28 14:27:32 UTC 2011 x86_64
Problem still exists in 4.2 M4 build. Default Problems view appearance is unusable on GTK, independently which theme I use (GTK/Classic)... Please consider this as a MAJOR severity issue, it is NOT normal.
Bogdan, I can't repo the problem on RHEL6 gtk2-2.18.9-4.el6.i686 Maybe it has to be the latest gtk2? PW
