Galileo would let a developer copy a list of plugins to the clipboard.
Indigo has taken away this ability to copy a list of plugins to the clipboard.

What do we do now ? Can we please get this capability back into the product ? Thanks for your consideration.

-----------------

USE_CASE:

One developer could email another developer a list of plugins loaded in their eclipse by doing these steps in Galileo.

•	Help >> "Install New Software"
•	Click on the link titled, "What is already installed ?"
•	A property page titled, "Eclipse Installation Details" is calculated, then displayed.
•	Click on the Tab "Installed Software"
•	Once here, one possible action is to first select what you are interested in.
•	Then Right-Click. Finally, "Copy" to the clipboard for later use

-----------------

USEFULNESS: Developers could send emails like this ...

Dear Greg,

Here is what I have loaded. Please do the same, to get your build to work.

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Remy Suen CLA 2011-09-13 12:48:35 EDT
I cannot reproduce this problem on Windows XP.
Comment 2 gregpf_at_briodotcom CLA 2011-09-13 13:38:14 EDT
(1) I am using MSWIN-7 (not XP)
(2) Regardless of the OS, is there any way to cut-and-paste a list of loaded plugins to the clipboard ?
(3) I origionally outlined the steps to "do that", in Galileo.
(4) It seems (perhaps I'm wrong) that there is *no way*
whatsoever to do this task in Indigo. This bug request a way (any way) to cut-and-paste the loaded plugin list, to the clipboard, to share with other developers.
(5) Let me repeat the steps below, for how it was done in Galileo
---------------------------
•	Click Help >> "Install New Software"

•	Click on the link titled, "What is already installed ?"

•	A property page titled, "Eclipse Installation Details" is calculated, then displayed.

•	Click on the Tab "Installed Software"

•	Once here, one possible action is to first select what you are interested in.
Then Right-Click.
Finally, "Copy" to the clipboard for later use

•	Example: JBoss Maven Integration 1.0.1.v201006011046R-H111-GA org.jboss.tools.maven.feature.feature.group

I noticed this but did not deem it to be something that would cause such a bug to manifest itself.

Which part of your Galileo steps doesn't work in Indigo? I see nothing you listed that is missing or doesn't work in Indigo. Unless it is the final 'Copy' part that doesn't seem to

You did not mention the 'Plug-ins' tab in your comment 0 or comment 2.

In any case, your described steps in your Flash video does not work in Galileo either. Copy stuff from the 'Installed Software' tab instead.

(1) I'll close the bug. Thanks for helping.

(2) I might file an enhancement to
*add* copy-to-clipboard, for the grids displayed in the
  "Features" and "Plugins" tabs.

(3) As a summary, "things" are equal, between these 2 releases. (My mistake)
