Description David Williams CLA 2011-09-08 18:24:19 EDT
According to the latest "indigo report", there are 87 bundles in papyrus that are missing about.html files.

What happened!? Are all these new? Some huge build failure?

Marking as blocking since you (we) can't release without those.

Do let me know if my report is wrong.

Oh, meant to past in the URL ..

http://build.eclipse.org/indigo/simrel/reports/layoutCheck.txt

But in general, you'll want to check or keep your eye on many of the reports in http://build.eclipse.org/indigo/simrel/

Any chance these two plugins are all part of this "papyrus" build?
Its all modeling to me :)

org.eclipse.xtext.gmf.glue.source_0.8.1.v201109071134.jar
org.eclipse.egf.examples.installer_0.6.0.v20110905-0822.jar

about.html files were missing in all our source plugins. We have added them.
org.eclipse.xtext.gmf.glue.source_0.8.1.v201109071134.jar is part of Papyrus, but org.eclipse.egf.examples.installer_0.6.0.v20110905-0822.jar is not.

Looks like you are down to 18 missing files? (I'm assuming the first one in list is not yours ... including it just in case).

This should now be fixed for all these plug-ins, except this one :

Missing about.html in file: org.eclipse.cdt.p2.source_1.0.0.201109132301.jar

which isn't ours.
Comment 6 David Williams CLA 2011-09-15 23:10:00 EDT
Did your "fix" not get promoted?

I still see these 18 missing the about.html files, in the final aggregation build.

David,

During our testing we have encountered a major bug in RC4. This bug is currently beeing fixed. I will make a new build and promote it today.

Thanks.

David,

A new RC4 of Papyrus has been promoted. You can run the aggregator.

Thanks,

Chokri

The procedure to follow now, since past the last deadline and in to the "quiet" period, is to ask for a respin on cross-project list. This is both to keep everyone informed, and allow others a chance to comment if they feel strongly.

Naturally, you should have the awareness and support of your PMC and Planning Council representative (Ed Merks) but, I suspect everyone would be fine with it ... but, good to follow the procedure.

Also, one important consideration is if Papyrus is in an EPP Packages? So, be sure to state if it is or note.

Also, since sounds like this involves two things ... the "legal files" and some other bug? The legal files obviously won't impact anyone, but the bug fix should be described (or, a bugzilla pointed to) and/or some indication given if adopters should "rebuild" or "retest" (hopefully not, usually not, but ... best to be explicit).

Whew ... I feel a FAQ coming on ... to write all this down :)

Thanks so much for your care and attention.
