Hi I am a new user to eclipse and programming. I have download the J2EE version of eclipse today and went into the "help -->Install for new software" I click all and left out those that already have been installed.

After I completed the entire installation, I am required to restart. However, when i restart I get the workspace launcher and the moment i click ok, eclipse will hang.

I tried this a couple of times and read a few sites for solutions i tried deleting this "/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources directory "

but it still crashes.

Finally, I reinstalled eclipse in a new folder and this 2nd installation seems to work.

How do I get the first installation to work again since I have downloaded all the new packages. Took me the entire afternoon.

Thanks so much for the solution.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open eclipse
2.click ok at workspace launcher
3.

Does the splash screen just stop there and never finish? Is there anything in your workspace's log? If you use a different workspace does Eclipse start?
