I don't see this in 3.x. I see they're bold if the editor isn't currently visible though. Is this a new enhancement request, Dani?

Also see bug 179331.

I believe marking it italic is better. As Remy said, bold is already used for a different purpose.

Correct. This is not a compatibility issue, but also an issue in 3.x.

The problem is that bold is wrongly used to mark hidden items (70982). Only when that bug is fixed, we can address this one.

Note that we use bold and not italic all over the place to mark selected/matched items.

That's one part of the fix. The other part is, we need to distinguish the visible from the non-visible parts. I've discussed this with Markus and a good solution might be to draw a line between them. This should be done like in the Quick Access popup (Ctrl+3).

The Gerrit change seems to be on hold: there's currently a "Cannot merge" message on it.

The dividing line is an idea. An overlay symbol on the icon of the file is another.

In 4.7 RC1 the active editor is italic and on top.
