Build Identifier: Version: Indigo Release Build id: 20110615-0604 (64-bit, Eclipse Modeling Tools) I posted in the Birt forum after having difficulties installing the BIRT Framework (v3.7.0_v20110603), and Jason Weathersby kindly suggested I should an error log in bugzilla. I am contactint the eclipse community for the first time, hopefully I finally placed the problem the right place. (Jason's comment is here: http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/238037/721381/#msg_721381) To Jasons Q: "Have you tried the Eclipse IDE for Java and Report Developers download? http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/node/609". A: Yes, tried it now. That install package loaded beautifully, and I was able to conduct a Birt tutorial based on that distibution. Back to the main problem: The Birt installation process takes a long time and eventually it is not succesful. Extracts of 2 Error Logs and a screendump are now uploaded to the forum Thread. To me it seems like the installation goes into some kind of a loop, as the similar screendump appears over and over again (after reaching 4.34MB it starts from 0.0 MB repeatedly). The error log has not been consistent between different attempts. About my Eclipse installation: Eclipse Indigo on Windows 64 (eclipse-modeling-indigo-win32-x84_64.zip). Have tried to reinstall this basis a several times, also downloading from several different locations. No difference. Reproducible: Always
Hi, I can not reproduce you issue. I use Indigo build (at http://build.eclipse.org/technology/epp/epp_build/indigo/download/20110615-0608/20110615-0608_eclipse-modeling-indigo-RC5-win32.win32.x86_64.zip) and install BIRT Framework from Help->Install New Software. It installs successfully.
close as works for me. Please reopen if you can give your specific environment to reproduce.
