user and global settings files

Hello,

I am running Eclipse 4.1 with m2e 1.0.100 on Windows 7.

I just cannot make m2e work behind a proxy:
- at Eclipse startup I get the error: "Unable to update index for central | http://repo1.maven.org/maven2"
- if I try to create a Maven project based on an archetype (like simple-j2ee), I get a complaint about not being able to resolve the archetype

If I bypass the proxy, everything works fine.

I have configured Eclipse proxy setting on "Native" (it picks up the Windows settings), and I have configured the global and user settings for Maven by configuring the Maven preference page in Eclipse for global setting and user setting to "global settings.xml" and "settings.xml" file respectively, both of which have a <proxy> entry set for the corporate proxy address.

PLS note that Eclipse marketplace access and Eclipse update work perfectly behing the proxy.

I attach the setting files.

regards,
Gianni

Does import of existing maven project fail as well?

Is this NTLM proxy?
