Bug 293926 is a serious bug that has broken our content merge viewer.  Not sure why the fix was not backported to all of the broken eclipse releases.  Looks like it was broken around eclipse 3.5, but only backported to 3.7.  We have many products that integrate with us going out on eclipse versions that are still broke.  Please backport all the way back to where the bug first occurred.
