Description Ed Willink CLA 2011-08-31 01:20:17 EDT
http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/mdt/downloads/?project=ocl shows

22 3.2.0 N-builds. I think at most 5 are worth keeping.

3 3.1.0 RC-builds. These are all obsolete.

10 3.2.0 M-builds. I think just the RCs and M-builds post RC are worth keeping (perhaps just 5 like the N-builds).

Can the N-build pruning be automated?

Download page cleaned...

Likewise, the 3.0.2 release has been moved to archives.

Good point, a wise script could always do this kind of things.

Perhaps, when promoting an N build (and probably an M one), the drops folder could always be cleared.

Too soon. 3.0.2 is the best Helios release. Many users are still on Helios.

The archives are for what no one in their right mind might want to use.

Ed,

Although I didn't agree with the idea, I restored the 3.0.2 in the main area of the downloads page.

Resolving as FIXED.

P.D: Please, let me know the date in which you consider we must remove it from the main downloads area.

Thanks.

It's difficult, but we have to remember how far behind our consumers are. I think in terms of Juno, while many customers are only thinking of changing to Indigo.

Acceleo and Xtext try for much wider range of support.

I think three years is a plausible compromise between real accesses that shouldn't need to go to archive.

A consumer who is willing to download OCL will probably want to download the last released version.

Providing any kind of backwards compatibility support doesn't imply having old versions in the main downloads area.

Keep in mind that moving "old versions" to archive has the solely purpose of easying/ the mirroring process. In the case somebody wants old version they always may download them from archives via our downloads web page.

Regards,
Adolfo.
