Description Rodrigo Guilherme Wolschick CLA 2011-08-30 17:44:23 EDT
Build Identifier: 20110615-0604

This bug happens in our RCP app but also in Eclipse, when opening multiple files from Finder with the application closed. When multiple files are selected, the launcher seems to crash before even starting eclipse. No log is produced and the Mac error report dialog is shown.

The Console app shows the following messages:

8/30/11 6:36:15 PM	[0x0-0xce0ce].org.eclipse.eclipse[4456]	Invalid memory access of location 0x0 eip=0x90b16cb8
8/30/11 6:36:16 PM	com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[106]	([0x0-0xce0ce].org.eclipse.eclipse[4456]) Job appears to have crashed: Bus error

This doesn't seem like a major bug in Eclipse because you usually open files inside Eclipse itself, but in our RCP app it would be really good to be able to open multiple files like this.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make sure Eclipse is not running
2. Select two Java files in Finder
3. Right click them -> Open with... ->Select Eclipse.app

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
