Since there's 'Add to Git Index' I would also expect the 'Remove from Git Index' to unstage a file again.

Basically everywhere where I had 'Add to Git Index' before.

Is this still a problem? I see "Remove from Index" in both the team menu and the Staging view menu. It's not available in Git Repositories view though.

This is still not OK. As you already noticed it's still missing in the repo view. Also, if the action is not available, then it should either be disabled or not appear in the context menu.
