Currently we can not hide easily the name of association nor we can easily change the color. Those possibilities should be available in appearance tab of property view and in preferences as it is done for class diagram.

all new created associatio nin the use case diagram will have the capacity to change color font.
the genfile contained a property that prevent it to change the color of this element. 
done in the version 0.9.X in the revision 7908
