Switching between the (2) available marketplaces will reset the entire state of the UI of the marketplace wizard. This affects active searches and tab selections.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Do a search on marketplace.
2. Switch to the other marketplace, then switch back.
3. The original search is lost completely. What is more, the search field is still filled out with the search text, which is even more confusing, because it looks like a search is active, but the results do not reflect this.

Will take a look at this. While we have to reset the tab selection due to branding, we should definitely clear the search field.

What do you mean by branding? For instance, if the user has the "Installed" tab selected, why couldn't that selection be preserved and in what why is is affected by branding?
Regarding the search, yes, clearing it would be a step forward, but from the point of view of usability the user would really rather have it preserved than reset.
Thanks for the quick response.

MPC allows the different marketplaces to show/hide the different tabs and to rename them. eg. Marketplace 1 has "Featured" which could be hidden for Marketplace B or renamed to "Something else". But when switching back to A, yes, we could use the same tab as before.

Preserving the search makes sense too. Will have a look at this for SR1.

In the current release, we carry the search over between different marketplaces. So searching for something on the Eclipse marketplace and then switching over e.g. to the Obeo one will trigger the same search there. One exception: If a category or market with the same name is not available in the new marketplace, that filter is reset.

The same goes for the tabs: if the same tab exists in the new Marketplace, it stays activated. Otherwise we switch back to the Search tab (or more specifically to whichever tab is at index 0).
