Description Ricardo Gladwell CLA 2011-08-02 10:36:02 EDT
Build Identifier: 1.0.0.20110607-2117

Problem: I'm being prompted to install dependencies for my m2e-android connector extension even though it is already installed.

Expected result: If the ADT is already installed, I should not be prompted again when installing m2e-android.

Actual result: Despite the fact the ADT is already installed, I am still prompted to install m2e-android.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Android SDK and ADT as described here: http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing.html
2. In Eclipse select File -> New -> Project...
3. Select Maven -> Maven Project and click "Next"
4. Click "Next" again
5. Click "Add Archetype..."
6. In Archetype Group Id enter "de.akquinet.android.archetypes"
7. In Archetype Artifact Id" enter "android-quickstart"
8. In Archetype Version enter "1.0.5"
9. Click "OK"
10. Click Next
11. Enter your desired project group and artefact ID, version and, optionally,
set the "platform" property for the Android version (defaults to '7')
12. Click Finish
13. Open POM in editor and change maven-android-plugin version to "3.0.0-alpha-2"
14. Click on "Plugin execution not covered by lifecycle configuration" and select "Discover new m2e connectors".
15. Click Finish to install

Install screen

Clearly shows already installed features/plugins asking to be installed after M2e Marketplace dialog, despite the fact they are already installed.

Few things, in Eclipse open Help > About > Installation Details

Verify that the duplicates are root elements (you don't need to expand a tree to see them) and that they are the same version.
Comment 3 Ricardo Gladwell CLA 2011-08-02 11:04:04 EDT
Both versions appear to be the same: 12.0.0.v201106281929-138431

In Help > About > Installation Details the installed ADT features are only listed once, so I assume the ADT features were installed over the previous ones.

The problem is not that there are duplicate ADT features installed on the same Eclipse, but that I'm prompted to install them twice.
