Description avantias CLA 2011-07-20 05:52:35 EDT
Build Identifier: Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers. Version: Helios Service Release 2 Build id: 20110218-0911

I am facing the problem in some of my developments. When I am building an OLEClientSite with Excel.Sheet and I have already Excel open in stand alone mode, I can't regain focus on Excel while I haven't close my applet (and so my OLEClientSite).

It happens too with my version of eclipse (Helios). If i drop an Excel file in Eclipse while Excel is running, I can't go back to excel (can't maximize and regain focus) while i haven't close the Excel file ine Eclipse. It seems to be a bug from the swt jar with the OLE components.

The bug was already submitted 4 years ago (Bug 138165) and marked as resolved (2007-02-14 20:10:11 EST) but it seems to be not.

Regards

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Excel
2. Start SWT App including OleClientSite(..."Excel.Sheet")
3. Click Excel window (or icon on taskbar) to move focus to Excel
==> SWT App is activated. I cannot move focus to Excel.

I forgot to say I am running Excel 2007. I don't know if it makes any difference.

I tried to reproduce with Office 2003 and no bug was noticed. I guess this happens with Office 2007 only.

I am following all the OLE bugs, but not working on them right now.
I hope to find the time to work on them for M2 or M3.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
