The file /org.eclipse.ui.ide/schema/filesystemSupport.exsd references the scheme with
org.eclipse.core.filesystem.filesystems/@id 
but (as far as I understand the definition of file system contributors) it should be:
org.eclipse.core.filesystem.filesystems/filesystem/@scheme

It looks like you committed this to CVS but Platform UI moved to Git.

Hmm. Right. It was not clear for me where I should start pushing to Git. I'll push it to the new repo.

The fix released to R3_ and R4_ branches in the UI Git repo as Paul suggested.
