Build Identifier: 20110218-0911 This is not a bug, but a usability enhancement requirement when creating a task in mylyn, user always need to use the wizard to select a repository. while in many case, user work in eclipse on one special kind of task. It will be better to provide a function to let user set "default repository" and once set, when creating the task, if default repository is set, there will be no need to choose repository. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: see above
You can use the drop down arrow next to the new task icon in the Task List toolbar. It shows an entry for each repository in the working set to create tasks without going through the wizard work flow. Also, if you select a task and then click the new task icon, the respective repository will be pre-selected. I hope these suggestions help. If not, please feel free to reopen.
I'd also like a default. The dropdown next to the new task button is really tiny and fiddly (Fitt's law hates Eclipse generally, but that arrow is the smallest type of click target in the UI) and it's offputting to have to either click that or click through a window every time. Perhaps a compromise if you disagree: if there's only one repository configured, could Mylyn use that without prompting?
I would prefer to see an option to set a default repository as well. Typically once a workflow has been set up for a team, there's only going to be one choice in use. The extra step is just a little counter-productive, especially when you miss that little down-arrow. An option to pick a default repository for a workspace will just streamline the workflow a bit more.
