more then often mylyn and it's connectors could be used as a stand alone application for users who are not developers but qa or requirment anaylysts, however mylyn itself does not provide anything for that today.

a solution would be to construct something similar to the tutorial provided here, so that connector developer could continue to build on it.

Thank you for your request. Unfortunately it does not fall into the scope of the project and we are unable to resolve it. 

There are third parties that provide RCP applications which include Mylyn that may address your needs. I would recommend considering seeking support from those third parties, some of which can be found under http://eclipse.org/mylyn/support/.
