Using EGit, I got this stacktrace inside the .log file. The NPE happens in error-handling code. There was another (more interesting exception, but that one was swallowed by the NPE). Fixed the NPE with http://git.eclipse.org/c/platform/eclipse.platform.text.git/commit/?id=d591cfb9ef83ea800d07f896bb3657ed4a22bd1b

I would also like to know which one, that's why I fixed this bug. "Swallowed" means: "It's gone for good and there is no way to find it again, unless you can reproduce the bug in a build where the NPE is fixed".
