Build Identifier: I20110613-1736 On my MacBook Pro, the command key and option key are reversed in Eclipse. For example, to quit Eclipse, if I hold down the command key (the one with the apple and pretzel icons) and press Q, that should quit Eclipse. Instead, it inserts "œ". Here in the browser, holding the option key and pressing Q does that. In Eclipse, to exit the program, I have to hold the option key and press Q, this in spite of the fact that when I hold down the file menu, the pretzel icon appears next to the letter Q, yet the actual pretzel key is not used as an accelerator in this instance. That's backwards. I must be missing something, as I can find no mention of this anywhere, no matter what I search for in Google. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. hold down option key 2. press Q 3. notice Eclipse quits
Works for me. Did you switch modifier keys in the OS? System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Modifier Keys.

I wish it were that. in fact, I tried swapping those keys in the system preferences, and then everything else was swapped EXCEPT for eclipse. I've tried rebooting, hoping that would fix things. is there an uninstaller for eclipse on mac? I wonder if I got rid of everything eclipse-y on the system and reinstalled, if that might help?
I'd get a clean Eclipse SDK download, install (unzip) it in a new directory and open it with a new workspace. The "installation" of Eclipse SDK is simply unzipping it.

I created a new user account, which does NOT have the same problem. so I know I can switch users if I need to, but I am going to try and figure out what's wrong with my normal user account. if I discover anything, I'll be posting it here: http://dldnh.blogspot.com/2011/07/fun-with-eclipse-on-mac-os.html thanks much for the help!
