$ ssh egit.eclipse.org
ssh: connect to host egit.eclipse.org port 22: Connection timed out

Looks like port 22 isn't answering. Port 80 is working fine, is port 22 blocked in the firewall configuration or something?

Would you have some kind of local firewall on that box?  From dev.eclipse.org I can connect just fine, but from an outside connection, if I trace packets on the closest firewall, they seem to go through but not be replied...

I believe you have a shell on dev.eclipse.org ... try looking at the local iptables.
