Description Pascal Rapicault CLA 2011-06-23 10:37:12 EDT
Some people are asking for the inclusion of m2e as part of the jee package. This is a bug to keep track of this request.
Comment 1 Fred Bricon CLA 2011-06-23 11:51:28 EDT
Can m2e be part of the JavaEE package without the m2e-wtp plugin?
If it can't then m2e-wtp should be included too -> join the eclipse incubator.
What are Sonatype's plans in this regard?
Comment 2 Thorbjørn Ravn Andersen CLA 2012-04-03 04:20:40 EDT
With the recent proposal of migrating m2e-wtp to Eclipse, the inclusion of both m2e and m2e-wtp would be very reasonable.

FYI, http://eclipse.org/proposals/technology.m2e.m2e-wtp

As soon as m2e-wtp is provisioned and the initial contribution is approved, the project should plan to take steps to get included in a Juno SR so that it can be included in the package. It's not likely that we'll be able to get this all done in time for Juno, but maybe SR1 or SR2. Kepler is certainly possible if there is will from the project.
Comment 4 Fred Bricon CLA 2012-04-03 09:53:01 EDT
I didn't know we could target inclusion for a SR. That's good news.
We'll most probably try to hit Juno SR1, if everything goes smoothly.

There is precedent. I think you could make a decent case to the planning council.
Comment 6 Chuck Bridgham CLA 2012-04-03 10:18:29 EDT
I will also stay optimistic!

If everything goes smoothly - I agree m2e coupled with m2e-wtp is a natural fit for this package.
Comment 7 Fred Bricon CLA 2013-01-29 08:30:24 EST
Now that m2e-wtp produces M builds from eclipse.org, any chance we get it included for the next M5 JavaEE distro?
Comment 8 Chuck Bridgham CLA 2013-02-01 10:54:23 EST
I'm flagging this for Kepler (M6) - I'll also ask Marcus to add target versions not available yet..

EPP Kepler release is 2.0 (As far as I can tell)
Comment 9 Wayne Beaton CLA 2013-02-06 15:05:01 EST
Note that m2e-wtp is in incubation. If an incubating component is included in a package, that package must be labeled as containing incubating components.

Is there any prospect of m2e-wtp graduating with 1.0 release in time for Kepler?
Comment 10 Fred Bricon CLA 2013-02-06 22:18:22 EST
Yeah I'm hoping to make m2e-wtp reach 1.0 for next June.
At this point, I'm only expecting doing some API cleanup, adding i18n support and some more docs after m2e-wtp 0.17.0 is released around Juno SR2.
Comment 11 Fred Bricon CLA 2013-05-17 10:12:39 EDT
So I guess we won't see m2e-wtp in Kepler Java EE EPP?
/me sad panda
Comment 12 Chuck Bridgham CLA 2013-05-17 10:33:09 EDT
:) don't be sad.. :) planning on doing it for RC1

Wanted to make sure My version changes were flushed out before adding.

Actually will probably make changes today in prep for next week
Comment 13 Chuck Bridgham CLA 2013-06-05 09:30:38 EDT
This was officially added in Kepler RC1...
