While I was tagging a project, I got a message that CVS died and some lock files might need to be reset. !ENTRY org.eclipse.team.cvs.core 4 -10 2011-06-22 08:01:01.148 !MESSAGE The server reported an error while performing the "cvs tag" command. !SUBENTRY 1 org.eclipse.team.cvs.core 4 -14 2011-06-22 08:01:01.161 !MESSAGE e4: cvs tag: cannot read /cvsroot/eclipse/CVSROOT/taginfo: Bad file descriptor !SUBENTRY 1 org.eclipse.team.cvs.core 4 -14 2011-06-22 08:01:01.161 !MESSAGE e4: cvs tag: cannot close /cvsroot/eclipse/CVSROOT/taginfo: Bad file descriptor !SUBENTRY 1 org.eclipse.team.cvs.core 4 -14 2011-06-22 08:01:01.161 !MESSAGE e4: Terminated with fatal signal 11 !SUBENTRY 1 org.eclipse.team.cvs.core 4 -14 2011-06-22 08:01:01.161 !MESSAGE e4: Core dumped; preserving /tmp/cvs-serv31172 on server. !SUBENTRY 1 org.eclipse.team.cvs.core 4 -14 2011-06-22 08:01:01.161 !MESSAGE e4: CVS locks may need cleaning up. I've cleaned up the lock and tmp directories. Please re-connect and try the tagging again. -M.
Tagging the project again lead to a similar problem: The server reported an error while performing the "cvs tag" command. e4: Terminated with fatal signal 11 e4: Core dumped; preserving /tmp/cvs-serv7560 on server. e4: CVS locks may need cleaning up. Could you please reset the lock files again? Thanx, PW
I've cleared the files you owned in the lock directory. -M.
Thanx Denis, you can close this. PW
Matt does all the work, I get the 'thanks'. Ooooh yeah.
