Description Thomas Singer CLA 2011-06-22 08:33:48 EDT
Build Identifier: 3.7.0.v3735b

It seems impossible to set italic or bold font using the fontStyle parameter of the StyleRange.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. launch the attached test case
2. it shows red and black text, the red part should be bold but isn't

This seems to be a duplicate of bug 131988 (colors are fine; fontStyle works with a LineStyleListener but not with a StyledCellLabelProvider).

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

Reopening this.

StyledText / StyledTextRenderer (in swt.custom) supports already this by dynamically creating Font objects based on fontStyle.

StyledCellLabelProvider (in jface) should too. It can be implemented in a very similar fashion.

Having this would make it *much* easier to implement light-weight StyleRanges that can be re-used and dynamically work even after font size settings in preferences are changed.
