Chrome 13.0 beta 1. Open some .js file in the editor. 2. Use the mouse cursor to select several lines of text upward (i.e. start from the bottom of the text block and drag the cursor up.) 3. As you're dragging, move the cursor to the left so goes outside the editor and onto the ruler. 4. The selection starts to flicker. When the mouse button is released, the selection is sometimes not drawn.
Worked for me here http://orion.eclipse.org/examples/textview/demo.html Come by my office and show it to me or silenio.
(In reply to comment #1) > Come by my office and show it to me or silenio. I recall we tested with an older stable version of Chrome on your machine and couldn't reproduce the bug. I am now using Chrome 14 beta and I still see the bug with demo.html
This is happening because of a bug in Chrome. See http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=93771 We need to investigate if we can find a work around. Selection is pretty broken this way.
It is not clear when/if the bug in webkit will ever be fixed. Given that we release a workaround the catches most cases. One case that is broken is if the mouse exits the editor while select dragging and goes over another iframe (for example, another editor), the selection does not update as the mouse move. This is a small problem compared to the current behaviour. Fixed http://git.eclipse.org/c/orion/org.eclipse.orion.client.git/commit/?id=69595b54a3c575088d5f15a7e01250989e3219ba
