Description Stephan Herrmann CLA 2011-06-08 13:31:46 EDT
Earlier today I could still respond to a post in the Object Teams forum.
Now any attempt to navigate to that post or the forum gives an error message:

"You have followed an invalid link. Please notify the webmaster how you got here."

To get there try e.g.: http://www.eclipse.org/forums/eclipse.objectteams

The listing of forums per project doesn't even show Object Teams any more.

Is that part of the project graduation happening exactly today??

While I'm at it: Aside from the project list, the forum would actually
fit even better under "Languages IDEs". Who decides what goes there?

I'm not sure how, but that forum ended up in the trash can. I've restored it to the IDEs category.
I do notice that there is no activity in the forum for this entire year (2011), although the NNTP newsgroup shows a handful of messages. Perhaps this group was a victim of the recent forums upgrade NNTP syncing problems?
On another note, you should edit the project metadata in the Eclipse Portal so that the forum description is more up-to-date.

Thanks!

Well, earlier today it still worked. And there has been a number of posts
this year! I do hope those messages are not completely lost?

Do you also see the multiplication of post that I see?

I was going to ask for exactly this change. I'll check with the portal
in a minute. Thanks for the hint.

Sorry, but I get the impression to restored the wrong trash can.
The messages I can see are only these *before the project creation*.
Hence the subtitle: Object Teams proposal.

I noticed this when I saw that the portal has a different description:
"Come here for discussions about everything related to Object Teams"

Alright, I removed that one that I restored. Not sure what's going on, so hopefully one of the webmasters will chime in with their access to and knowledge of the forums database.

I know webmasters are busy these days,

OTOH, I'd really love to announce in the forum that the Object Teams project
has just graduated!

Is there any hope that the vanished forum be restored?

Actually right now the link http://www.eclipse.org/forums/eclipse.objectteams
is still broken, whereas in the list of forums the partial version (only up-to
project creation) appears at the beginning of the project list (i.e., not
sorted alphabetically as the others).
Comment 6 Stephan Herrmann CLA 2011-06-09 18:06:12 EDT
Great, the forum seems to have fully recovered.

I'm leaving this open so webmasters can confirm that everything is
indeed in a sane state again.

Also, when things are cooling down, and if no risk involved
I'd appreciate if a move to "Language IDEs" be considered,
but I wouldn't call it a big deal.
Comment 7 Eclipse Webmaster CLA 2011-06-10 10:21:00 EDT
At this time I think things should be stable.

Comment 8 Eric Rizzo CLA 2011-06-10 10:30:45 EDT
I moved the Object Teams forum into the Language IDEs category.

Many thanks to both of you!
