Description Nathan Gervais CLA 2011-06-08 11:39:54 EDT
When Marketplace first launched we labelled the Favorites tab as 'Popular' as we didn't have any metrics gathered yet. Now that we have the metrics to provide a 'Popular' Tab (MPC Installs) we're left in a bit of a quandary.

I'd like to change the contents of the popular tab to actually show MPC popularity and if I we're to do this I'd have to change the favorites API to return popularity which is just wrong.

Therefore i'm proposing we add another tab to the wizard to allow for this case.

If we go ahead with this we'll need to update the server side catalog information to reflect another tab.

Sounds like a good idea, we should keep this in mind when discussing 1.2 features

I wonder if it's the right approach to add another tab to MPC. From my POV, MPC is getting more complex rather than an "easy to use" end user thing. People will have a hard time understanding what's the difference between Favorites and Popular, besides the other tabs we offer.

Adding Ian for input after his vacation.

Currently the Popular tab is showing the most downloaded so I think we should keep it that way.
