Description Eric Moffatt CLA 2011-06-03 13:39:57 EDT
This was discovered originally in bug 348215. The patch on that defect suffices for the given scenarios but is not generic enough; if there is a structure more than one level deep the lower level contexts will not be reparented.

The correct fix here is to allow the complete createGui cycle to run, taking care to do the minimum work necessary to 'render' an already rendered element...

*** Bug 349086 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***

Deferring to M5 as this is currently a 'technical debt' issue (i.e. it's not actually causing a perceivable defect, so it's 'polish' at best.
Comment 3 Eric Moffatt CLA 2012-02-14 16:39:28 EST
We'll pay down the debt in 4.3...
Comment 4 Eric Moffatt CLA 2013-10-21 14:56:32 EDT
We now do indeed run a complete 'createGui' cycle so should be be closing this defect ?
Comment 5 Eclipse Genie CLA 2020-01-22 15:28:04 EST
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
