Description Raph_1 CLA 2011-06-02 05:33:36 EDT
Build Identifier: birt run times 2 6 2

On the same report, or the report upgraded with Birt designer 262,
the export using excel format fails, i m using excel 2007.
I have 2 folders on the tomcat server, one folder uses runtimes v 2.3.2, the report exports fine on excel (open file or save file), with the 2.6 version, excel freeze, and nothing happens. So we have to use the export data way.
The file contains 65 columns and 800 rows. The report displays 16 pages. I tried with another report that contains less datas, and it's exporting fine.
It seems to be a memory issue but it s just a idea.

Reproducible: Always

Please attach the document generated from the design.

I have to mention that the report finally exports, but it takes a very long time, approx. 5 or 10 minutes, compared to 20 seconds with runtimes 2.3.2.
So users can t wait so long. But we can t say it doesn t work, it s just very very slow. Do you want me to post the .rptdesign report ?

Yes, please attach the report design( report document would be better if you'd like). It would help much to locate the problem. Thanks.

Hi,
I've tried your rptdesign in Birt designer. The xls file generation takes no more than 10 seconds. What takes 5-10 min is for excel to read and open the .xls file as the file seems a bit large (around 24.8M). Just to confirm if this is the case?

Rhaph, please try if you can still reproduce this bug by using the report I uploaded. Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for the work, but the thing is I m not able to correctlty modify the report to make it work on my Oracle server, I pasted the <data-sources> parameters, but i seems I steel have xml errors, I understood you build some scripted datasource and dataset I m not able to fix on my report.

Could you use our report directly instead of integrating some part of it into your own report? Thanks
