Build Identifier: M20110210-1200 Although I regularly select the checkbox 'Delete project contents on disk (cannot be undone' - see eclipse-scr-prompt.GIF - a warning is regularly displayed indicating that projects which have the same name as projects which have already been deleted cannot be created - see eclipse-scr_error.GIF, when creating a New Java Project using the wizard. Eclipse presumably keeps track internally, however, no evident configuration setting is available for clearing this history, for example, when the user is deleting temporary files for freeing up some disk space. Reproducible: Always

Jonathan, I'm sorry I didn't understand the bug report clearly. Are you asking for storing the value of the checkbox and automatically check/uncheck it next time when the dialog appears?
I am asking for the warning message to be removed, and, the relevant temporary files, cache, once I have selected the option to delete the project permanently from the disk.

AFAIK, There is no such temporary files/cache is being maintained by Eclipse on the deleted projects. Can you let us know the steps to reach eclipse-scr_error.GIF ? I guess this will happen only if you don't click the "Delete Project contents" checkbox, which leaves the project on the disks and removes it from the workspace.

Select File > New > Java Project, or, select Alt + Shift + N and select Project from the context menu. See ecslipe-main screen.GIF. 1.2. Use the wizard to create a Java Project. 2. Delete the project created in step 1 2.1. Select the project from the Projects Window, and, delete the project, and confirm by selecting 'Delete project contents on disk (cannot be undone)' and selecting OK (see eclipse-scr.prompt.GIF) It is noted that when I type the name of a project that already existed in the past, the prompt is displayed 'A project with this name already exists', as per screenshot eclipse-scr_error.GIF.
