Both features, org.eclipse.photran.intel and org.eclipse.photran.xlf seem to be *not included* in the Indigo repository nor in the /releases/staging repository, but both of them are a hard requirement of the Parallel Package. These features and their dependencies have to be included in the aggregated repository, otherwise the package cannot be build. (I didn't see that the Parallel Package did not build in the last few days, it was only today when I found out about it. Maybe this problem existed since the very beginning and it was hidden by the fact, that I had a link to the PTP repository in the EPP build scripts from the time when I tried to get a first Parallel Packages out. Anyway, this link to the PTP repository is now removed from the EPP build script.)
I think we need to fix this in the aggregated Simultaneous Release repository, but since this is very unlikely to happen today (with RC2), I can see two options for the EPP package: (1) Remove the dependency to the features from the Parallel Package in RC2 and add it again for RC3. (2) A Parallel Package only RC2-build that adds the required PTP repository temporarily, just for this build. I would vote for option (2), because it should be easy to try. Option (2) would involve a re-build of *all* packages and a change of the metadata that is being used to build the packages. At this point in time I'd like to avoid a re-build of all packages. Beth, Greg, please advise... :) Thanks.
I assume you mean ope(In reply to comment #1) > I think we need to fix this in the aggregated Simultaneous Release repository, > but since this is very unlikely to happen today (with RC2), I can see two > options for the EPP package: > > (1) Remove the dependency to the features from the Parallel Package in RC2 and > add it again for RC3. > (2) A Parallel Package only RC2-build that adds the required PTP repository > temporarily, just for this build. > > I would vote for option (2), because it should be easy to try. I assume you mean you vote for option (1). That's fine by me. I would prefer to avoid a rebuild also. I'll try to work out why the features are missing...
Yepp, sure, I meant option (1), thanks. Build of the Parallel Packages is here: http://build.eclipse.org/technology/epp/epp_build/indigo/download/20110526-1317/
I've added the features to the indigo repository so they should hopefully be there for RC3.
I removed my temporary fix (additional /tools/ptp/updates/indigo repository) from the EPP p2 director call again. We should see very early with the first RC3 builds if everything works and the photran features are in /releases/staging.
Markus, I'd call this fixed, so I'm marking it thusly. Jeff Overbey has also confirmed to me that the right features get installed on the right platforms.
