When I go to git-status to look at my changes, sometimes I see a change I don't need or perhaps it's not complete. There's already a bug somewhere for "revert to remote version" which would let me quickly toss a change I don't need. But it would also be very convenient to be able to link to the file from the unstaged list. I saw the change and thought, "oh, let me clean that up and comment it a bit before committing."

I guess you mean bug 344280 ? > But it would also be very convenient to be able to link to the file from the > unstaged list. Do you meant to navigate to coding.html ? If so the writable compare editor can help you.The only thing it lacks is the out-line. But the good thing is that you can modify it at where you've change it , by using the next and previous diff action.
We have "Show in navigator" command on repositories view. This I think addresses similar issue, we can add "edit" command that would redirect us to editor. I use current diff preview as a default action for clicking on the resource and I find it quite handy.
