Description Thomas Watson CLA 2011-05-20 16:49:16 EDT
When running a eclipse-equinox-test-N build on hudson I noticed that the javadoc for the platform is not finding the types specified by the -link options. I see the following in the

https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/job/eclipse-equinox-test-N/357/artifact/builds/transfer/files/master/downloads/drops/N20110520-0929/compilelogs/platform.doc.isv.javadoc.txt

javadoc: warning - Error fetching URL: http://download.oracle.com/javase/1.5.0/docs/api/package-list
javadoc: warning - Error fetching URL: http://www.osgi.org/javadoc/r4v43/package-list
javadoc: warning - Error fetching URL: http://www.osgi.org/javadoc/r4v42/package-list
3 warnings

I am not sure if other eclipse builds on hudson show the same issue. The -link options are specified in the /org.eclipse.platform.doc.isv/platformOptions.txt file.

I've seen this with MAT.
https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/view/Tycho%20+%20Maven/job/tycho-mat-nightly/360/consoleFull
  [javadoc] javadoc: warning - Error fetching URL: http://help.eclipse.org/indigo/topic/org.eclipse.platform.doc.isv/reference/api/package-list
  [javadoc] Standard Doclet version 1.6.0_21

Perhaps javadoc isn't getting through the firewall and needs a proxy.

ANT_OPTS="-Dhttp.proxyHost=proxy.y.com" ant doc

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

If the bug is still relevant, please remove the "stalebug" whiteboard tag.
