Minimum support for special character and symbols, 
e.g. support UTF-16, 
other configuration options need to be exercised and implement if needed.

serializing the xml in UTF-16 makes the characters unreadable in many editors,
reading about it, it seems UTF-8 is preferred and strongly encouraged by some as it keeps interoperability
