Any time Code Assist appears, it is filled with huge amounts of CSS which ought to be hidden, but isn't. This is apparently an old and long-standing issue. I downloaded the latest PDT Eclipse for my machine from eclipse.org only a couple weeks ago. Makes it very tedious to try to read, sometimes to the point of impossibility.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make Code Assist appear.

As stated above, I downloaded this version from eclipse.org only a couple weeks ago. I did this from multiple machines, and each one has this problem.

It seems that xulrunner-1.9.x is not installed. Did you install it?

(For example, Ubuntu 11.04 doesn't have xulrunner by default so users must install xulrunner-1.9.2 manually.)

I wasn't aware that was a dependency. I have xulrunner-2.x, but I gather that won't cut it. Running Gentoo, so I'll just emerge it in a different slot and see if that fixes it.

Hm, seems xulrunner isn't a slotted package. Guess I'll have to manually compile an earlier version.

Installing xulrunner 1.9.2.17 worked. Thanks.

I'm having the same issue and just downloaded the PHP eclipse package for 64bit linux (I'm running Arch) today. I have not tried using xulrunner 1.9.x (which I honestly don't want to deal with...I can't just downgrade as other packages depend on xulrunner 2.x), but may I ask why pdt not working with xulrunner 2.x isn't a bug?

Thanks!

It is a matter of SWT. See also Bug 327696 - "[Browser] investigate support for xulrunner >= 2.0" or such.

BTW, PDT 3.0 on Indigo(eclipse 3.7) doesn't have this issue. Xulrunner seems unnecessary. (I've checked on Ubuntu 11.04 32bit)

Verified.
