Description Bernhard Merkle CLA 2011-05-19 08:04:03 EDT
is it really not possible to search per forum ?
i tried it (e.g. for the p2 forum) but it seems not possible
and hence the web-interface for the forum is pretty unusable.

can you activate the per forum search or is there any reason for not having it ?

http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?t=help_index&section=boardusage&S=#bsearch

please note that there are people who have no nntp access because of company firewalls etc...

thanks !

Have you tried using the search link at the top of the page? It allows you to search each forum.

yes but the problem is it searches in ALL forums.
I want only to search in the p2 forum e.g.
so I go to http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?t=thread&SQ=0&frm_id=195&frm_goto=Go

but if I enter "p2 headless" in the search box i get hits in b3, xtext, etc...

according to http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?t=help_index&section=boardusage&S=#bsearch
the admin has to activate per forum search...

Are you not seeing the drop-down which allows you to search any forum? The option is enabled....

I found it out. It is a browser issue with the forum software.
Is there an update for the forum software which fixes this bug ?

it works with firefox 3.6.x on windows
it fails with chrome 11 on windows

It works just fine with Chrome 11 on Linux. I don't have Windows so I can't test that out, but Chrome should behave the same way regardless of the platform.

The fact that you're the only one reporting this leads me to believe you may have an adblocker or something in your environment that is interfering with the page.
